A 24-Hour Cycle of Painting

Here is Julie Torres during her 24-hour painting cycle. The resulting wall of finished paintings reveal some real gems. She described this process as "just one day of my life" and that this was "joy."

Camping out in the offices of Hyperallergic, Julie started painting at midnight Saturday night and kept on working until midnight the following day. I paid her visit at noon on Sunday, bringing coffee and croissant. I got the first look (and first dips since she GAVE away her work) at a certain serialism where joy of color, brushstrokes, and form made up minutes and then 8 hours and finally a whole day.
