Thank you to everyone that voted for Camp Pocket U. in the Pepsi Refresh Project! We did not win.  No worries. Brainstorming with Jason Andrew of Norte Maar, the one-person non-profit arts collaborative in Bushwick, Brooklyn, that is making Camp Pocket U. a reality, we figure our strength lives at the grass roots level. Camp Pocket Utopia, grew out of Pocket Utopia Gallery also in Bushwick. Jason and I hope to inspire a conversation amongst artists, creative thinkers and the community, empowering participants and observers to think for themselves while offering a free camp for kids. $125 provides supplies for an art project for the camp. $250 brings five kids to camp. $500 brings an professional artist to Rouses Point to teach for three days. We need a total of $7,500. That's it. |
