This Beat is Sick

Hope this helps you plan your route!

This coming weekend get out and see all the art you never had the time for before! Without the clutter of hundreds of random living rooms diverting your attention, see Bushwick’s most respected spaces at a time more conducive to high culture activities — 6-10pm on Saturday night. This is not to say some of these places aren’t actually living rooms.

Wyckoff Avenue powerhouse Norte Maar presents “This Beat Is Sick: Bushwick Art Spaces Stay Open Late,” sponsored by BushwickBK, in which 10 spaces present work throughout the neighborhood. There is no theme shared among the spaces except that they’ve agreed to stay open until 10pm. Fully expect to bump into art world heavies like Jerry Saltz and Roberta Smith.

Along with Norte Maar, galleries English Kills, Centotto, Factory Fresh, Grace Exhibition Space, Laundromat, Lumenhouse, Privateer, a recent Chelsea refugee called Sugar, and the long-awaited Famous Accountants will be exhibiting their latest offerings.
