Smarts

Above a picture of Ben Berlow's work now up at Rawson Projects. Keep an eye on Rawson Projects they'll be mounting cool exhibitions in the future.

Yesterday I had a sneak preview of SmartSpace's newest venture with artist Carol Salmanson. SmartSpaces usually presents contemporary art in the windows of vacant storefronts, but this time they have mounted an installation in a vacant luxury apartment. Here are pictures from the inside and Ellen Scott's pictures from the street.

On Saturday, before teaching interior earth sculpture to kids, I stopped by the NYU's Grey Art Gallery to see Esteban Vicente's show of collages and small sculptures. It's a beautiful show.

Besides SmartSpaces, I'm impressed by the different art ventures that are popping up all around the city. Most recently I've learned about a new place to print silk screens, the Gowanus Print Lab whose main focus is to provide members with everything one could need to complete a variety of screen printing projects.

Now I'm off to Asya Geisberg Gallery.
