During the first year at Pocket Utopia, I made a concerted effort to say “yes” to artists. I said, “yes,” to viewing their work, “yes” to studio visits, and “yes” to their ideas of either doing projects or exhibiting at Pocket Utopia.
This year is different; I’m trying to empower artists to say “yes” to themselves. Do public, out-in-the-street projects, organize salons and performances. Edition your own prints and those of other artists.
Invite other artists into your studios and exhibit their work. Be empowered to develop your ideas into artworks that engage an audience. Invite me!
